How many of you are on Twitter? Do you know what Twitter is?
Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users' updates (otherwise known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length.
Do you know who has the most followers on Twitter? The guy at the top is one Barack Obama, who sends out daily "tweets" of where he will be speaking and even provides a link to allow you to watch. Even Joe Biden has a Twitter account, but not that many followers (we can fix that). Guess which two politicians do not have Twitter accounts?
So what is "Tweeting the Vote"? It is drive by Erika Napoletano to get people to follow their candidates online as much as possible through the numerous social media outlets with a focus on Twitter.
For those of you reading this, it’s likely you know what a blog is (if not, you’re reading one right now). A blog is social media. It’s a form of media that brings people together in communities to discuss and share ideas. A virtual collection of people.

- The more people you encourage to join Twitter and follow you, the more people you’ll be able to share your information about the campaign trail with as the race goes on — and the more people you’ll have to feed YOU relevant, funny, pertinent, laugh-out-loud information with as well!
- Tweet all of your new online friends, and email the other ones to join Twitter, to make sure they’re all registered to vote before the eligibility window closes.
- Tweet your friends on Election Day to make sure they get the hell out to vote! (and by the way, go ahead and let your boss know now that you won’t be in on November 4th until you’ve voted, dammit.)
I've been using Twitter for a while and it really gives me a head's up on things that are coming up on numerous things. Twitter will be an excellent tool to help get out the vote on November 4th. So if it is free, why not try it (I do not work for Twitter).
DailyKos has started to get stronger at Digg to the point that it has attracted attention -
With over 3 million registered users, Digg has been a driving force in online media, sometimes able to propel stories into the national spotlight. The site is responsible for creating a barrage of early buzz and massive online fundraising for former presidential candidate Ron Paul. It has also been heavily utilized by Obama supporters to promote the campaign’s social network, YouTube videos and email newsletter. And this year Digg has sponsored events at both political party conventions, including the Big Tent in Denver that hosted hundreds of bloggers and new media journalists.

A review of the front page stories from the last seven days shows that liberal sites like Huffington Post, Daily Kos, and Think Progress have had multiple articles a day on the front page while weeks will go by without a single major conservative blog achieving popular status.
Between August 26 and September 3, for instance, Huffington Post had 32 of its articles become popular — more than four a day. Daily Kos had 12 posts make the front page during that same time period.
What we did to Digg, we can do to Twitter, we already have in a way.
DailyKos already has a Twitter account, so everyone is on Twitter....except McCain and Palin.
